How to write a Job Search Email

We're impressed when job seekers take a proactive approach to their job search. Take Jason Corder for instance. Last week he sent out an email announcing his job search to his various contacts. The email itself is a well written piece of job search marketing that we wanted to show you...word for word. So here it is;

Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues:

I hope this email finds you and your family well. I am contacting you today, as currently I am pursuing and interested in taking on greater challenges and responsibilities within my career. I am currently seeking an employment opportunity, in hopes of being part of an organization that provides an atmosphere where I can display my dedication, commitment to excellence and strive to grow as a person in my employment.

I would truly appreciate your help in assisting with my job search. I have enclosed my resume for your review. As you will see, I have several years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Recruiting, Technology and General Business within Sport. I also have experience in many other areas including marketing planning, product management, digital marketing, financial planning, operations, general sales, advertising sales, web design and a broad understanding of computer hardware (Mac and PC) and computer software. While I have enjoyed my work to date, I am now interested in seeking what other opportunities are presented.

Please forward my resume to any friends, family and/or colleagues who are looking for an employee with my education and experience. It would be a pleasure to re-connect with you so please feel free to call me or email me to say hello or just catch-up. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any suggestions to aid in my job search and/or questions. Thanks again for your help and I look forward to speaking to each and every one of you.

Jason told us he cobbled together a list of 150 emails from from Friends, Family, Linked-In and an email list he made/collected from a local baseball academy that he started a couple years ago. Thus far about 20 people have responded but most just to say hello or reconnect. He's planning another blast so we'll keep you updated if he has some luck.
