Lawyer Job Description Template

We are searching for an experienced, dedicated lawyer to join our team. In this role, you will provide legal advice, counsel clients, perform research, advocate for clients, and negotiate settlements. You will work in a customer-facing office setting, working one-on-one with clients that you represent and supervising and managing the paralegal team.

The candidate should be able to practice good judgment, and have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong problem-solving skills.

  • Doctoral or professional degree in law

  • Two years experience practicing law

  • Managerial experience, preferred

  • Excellent multitasker with time management skills

  • The ability to work under pressure and in deadline-driven environments

Lawyer Duties And Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and counsel clients on legal matters. Conduct legal research and prepare case file documents, draft and administer contracts, and negotiate deals. Represent clients in legal proceedings.

Communication and Collaboration

Communicate effectively and be able to provide critical feedback and receive feedback from others. Collaborate with multiple people across the organization, including employees, clients, and senior management. Be comfortable working with a variety of different people.

Leadership

Supervising and managing the paralegal team. Act as a mentor to the paralegal and legal assistant teams. Be comfortable working closely with others, in a customer-facing environment, independently, and within a team setting.

Administrative

Conducting legal research. Preparing legal case files, documentation, compiling legal briefs and other documents for casework. Supporting the business to ensure its effective and efficient operations.

Reporting

Develop company policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive documents. Collecting, organizing, and filing documents. Generating reports, as needed.
